The APX line of vaporizers have an excellent price to performance value and as with any vaporizer there are a few routine cleaning tasks you will want to complete for basic care. APX Dry Herb Vape Cleaning
Suggested Cleaning Supplies
- Alcohol-filled cotton swabs or dry cotton swabs
- 91% isopropyl alcohol
- Soaking container with cover (glass is preferable)
- Cleaning wipes
- Included cleaning brush
- Dry towel or paper towel
- Cold water
Cleaning the mouthpiece - The mouthpiece on the top can be easily removed by pulling with moderate force. The mouthpiece consists of two pieces, the plastic outer shell and an insulating silicone liner.
- Pour enough isopropyl alcohol into a soaking container to cover the two pieces
- Separate the silicone liner from the plastic mouthpiece and place them in the soaking container for one hour
- Use a cleaning wipe to remove any particulate by hand
- Rinse in cold water and dry with a hand towel or paper towel
- Insert silicone liner back into the plastic shell
Cleaning the chamber - The vape contains a built-in ceramic heating chamber with a screen at the bottom. The best way to clean the chamber is with an alcohol-filled cotton swab. These steps can be performed while the mouthpieces are soaking.
- Ensure vaporizer is turned off and fully cooled prior to cleaning
- Snap the stem of the cotton swab to release the isopropyl alcohol into the cleaning tips. Alternatively dip a dry cotton swab into the 91% isopropyl alcohol
- Swirl the cotton swab tip around all surfaces of the heating chamber and surrounding areas to remove resin and other residues
- Let the vaporizer sit for 3 minutes and then dry-fire by turning it on to the highest heat setting. The heat will evaporate any remaining alcohol residue.
- Re-attach the mouthpiece on to the vaporizer
- Cleanup
Pro Tip - For best performance, use the included cleaning brush or a pipe cleaner stick to brush out the chamber after each use. This will help to avoid excessive build-up.
